The first step to getting a nursing job is to become a registered nurse. There are many ways to become a registered nurse, and the path you choose will depend on your education level, location, and specialty preference.

There are two main routes for becoming a registered nurse: completing an associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) or completing a bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). The ADN route usually takes 2-3 years while the BSN route can take 4+ years.
